Never a year goes by where I don't recall every memory from 2011 on this date. A tornado outbreak of this magnitude is what we call a "generational outbreak." Only two of this caliber have ever been recorded, with the other being in 1974 This was my first time ever chasing in "dixie alley" so I was not quite used to the challenges that came with the terrain. A tornado roping out north of Baird, Texas on an Easter Sunday storm chase. This twister was first a truncated cone, then an elephant trunk, and then finally a wispy rope over the open Texas landscape. This day was the fist in a string of setups that became known as the Super Outbreak 2.0 in the 2011 storm season.
