Portofino on the River, a popular Wyandotte waterfront restaurant, will close its doors after more than 40 years in business at the end of the year.

The Wyandotte eatery, which was formerly Pier 500, opened in May. Tickets are still available for the Waterfront Restaurant and Lounge’s outdoor viewing of the Detroit Ford Fireworks on Monday.
